American mixed martial arts promotion company UFC is planning to launch its Fan Token in the coming month. According to an announcement on the 4th of May, the Fan Token will be released in partnership with lead blockchain technology firm Chiliz. The companies will be working together to launch the token on fan influence and reward mobile app Socios.com.
Holders of the $UFC Fan Token will have access to certain opportunities, including fan voting rights. Additionally, the Fan Token will allow holders enjoy promotions and VIP rewards.
The senior vice president of global consumer products at UFC, Tracey Bleczinski, commented on UFC’s plan to launch its Fan token. The vice president said:
“UFC has more than 625 million fans around the world, and Fan Tokens are unique to connect with them through a compelling, authentic product that brings them closer to UFC and gives them influence, while also rewarding their passion for the sport.”
According to the CEO of Socios.com, the UFC tokens will be only be available on the Socios app. Upon launch, the token will have a maximum supply of 20 million.
The launch of the UFC Fan Token signifies Chiliz’s global expansion beyond Europe. Already, UFC has said that Chiliz is planning to launch more Fan Tokens in the US, UK, Asia, and South America.
