Top 10 blockchain games this week

Axie Infinity is the undeniable champion this week. This achievement is the result of two major announcements, and an impressive performance in terms of NFT sales. Sky Mavis, the team behind Axie Infinity, announced a new community-centric Builders Program. It will allow developers to create tools and spin-off games utilizing Axie characters. Additionally, the game introduced a new mechanic allowing players to release their Axies into the wild. In return, players receive land items and other rewards.

Hive-based card trading game Splinterlands has once again attracted the most unique active wallets this week. The platform recorded 534.060 connected addresses in seven days. The game’s Chaos Legion campaign is steadily holding the gamers’ attention, as two new cards were released this week. Banking on this continued hype, Splinterlands has already sold more than 6 million Chaos Legion card packs.

Fighting hard against main competitor Splinterlands, Alien Worlds is the second most visited gaming dapp this week. With just a little over half a million unique active wallets in the past seven days, Alien Worlds snatches the third spot in this week’s ranking. There haven’t been any major announcements from the platform in the past seven days. However, Alien Worlds has managed to create a strong community of gamers.

Mobox is climbing the charts this week. It ranks fourth thanks to the launch of a new season of the Token Master mini-game. Additionally, Mobox attracted 167.350 unique active wallets this week and generated more than $9 million in NFT trading volume.

REVV Racing has had a tremendously successful week thanks to a collaborative car NFT launch with NFAST. Inspired by the iconic GTs of the 80s, this exclusive supercar is available as six 1/1 NFTs, each for one color of the visible light spectrum. The newly launched set of cars will belong to the Legendary category in REVV Racing.

The Sandbox ranks sixth this week thanks to an impressive NFT trading volume, and a major SAND airdrop. The virtual worlds generated close to $12 million in land NFT trading volume, becoming the top-grossing virtual world in terms of NFT sales in DappRadar rankings

Following closely behind The Sandbox, Decentraland ranks seventh in this weeks top 10 blockchain games list. The virtual world generated $6.2 million in NFT trading volume, and despite a significant drop in valuation for the native token MANA, Decentraland is holding its ground. Additionally, the platform announced a video contest on its Twitter account, asking fans to pinpoint what they love about Decentraland.

Completing the list of virtual worlds in this ranking we have WorldWideWeb3 at eighth place. The platform generated close to $2 million in NFT trading volume in the past seven days. Additionally, WWW3 continues pushing integrations of various NFT collections, which boosts engagement and sales.

Boosting the play-to-earn presence in the ranking, Aavegotchi secured ninth place this week. While last week the game ranked fifth thanks to a major wearable drop and raffle, this week Aavegotchi barely made the cut. Still, the game generated close to $1 million in NFT trading volume, and unlike major competitors saw its GHST token remain relatively stable in pricing in the past week.

Last but not least in this week’s ranking we have Farmers World. The Wax-based farming game is a constant presence in the top 10 blockchain games list thanks to a huge community of players and fans. In the past seven days, Farmers World attracted close to 100.000 unique active wallets and generated $3.7 million in NFT trading volume.

Axie Infinity banks on community

Thanks to the extensive Builders Program, Axie Infinity has managed to climb to the top of this week’s ranking. This only goes to show how important community-centric events and functionalities are in the blockchain space. The Sky Mavis has managed to create arguably the largest and most active gaming community around Axie.

Additionally, listening to the ideas and suggestions coming from the community itself seems to be paying off for the platform. The introduction of a burning mechanism for Axies has been a community demand for quite some time now. With the new Releasing option players now have the opportunity to burn their Axie NFTs and receive rewards in return.

DappRadar will continue monitoring the gaming space, as more players turn to blockchain-based gaming. Dapps like Axie Infinity, Splinterlands, Aavegotchi, and Mobox all bring different functionalities to the table, making the space varied and exciting for different types of gamers.
