American Footballer Giving Away $1 Million Bitcoin For Free

Odell Beckham Jr., one of the most famous American football player has announced he is giving away for free $1 million worth of bitcoin to Twitter users.

“It’s a NEW ERA & to kick that off I’m hyped to announce that I’m taking my new salary in bitcoin thanks to Cash App.

To ALL MY FANS out there, no matter where you are: THANK YOU! I’m giving back a total of $1M in BTC right now too. Drop your $cashtag w. #OBJBTC & follow @CashApp NOW,” he told his 4.1 million followers with a video that has received one million views.

That’s one of the biggest bitcoin giveaway in years, with the footballer to also now receive his $4.2 million salary in bitcoin.

The sum will be denominated in USD but paid out in BTC as Beckham goes crypto with his Twitter profile showing a Cryptopunk NFT.

He is one among many with Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, basketball players Stephen Curry and Tobias Harris, as well as others, recently showing Ape NFTs on their profile picture.

Other sport stars are also getting paid in bitcoin, like Aaron Rodgers who will receive part of his salary in BTC.

That’s as cryptos go mainstream culturally in the United States with more and more celebs getting on the crypto train.
