Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and Polygon Reportedly Rank Among Most-traded Crypto

According to ZebPay, Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Polygon (MATIC) are two of the most traded digital currencies in India this year. Another major outlet, Indian trading platform WazirX, mentions Dogecoin (DOGE) and SHIB as two of the most frequently traded crypto of 2021. WazirX reported a 1,735% surge in trading volume.

In addition, WazirX disclosed that Bitcoin (BTC) proved to be more popular among women. It also added that men tended to favor Shiba Inu more.

WazirX witnessed a user base increase of about 130% in 2021, with the majority of this number comprising millennials. Despite having such a laudable year, the platform’s chief executive officer Avinash Shekhar still believes the best is yet to come. As Shekhar put it:

“We have seen significant growth in investors interested in crypto this year and the trend isn’t slowing down.”

Shekhar believes that crypto is still in its early stages. Furthermore, he noted that more governments worldwide, and mainstream financial institutions, are still warming up to digital assets. However, the Indian government does not seem to be one of those at the moment. This is due to the ever-prevalent issue of regulation.

The South Asian country earlier planned to institute a crypto bill in the winter session of parliament. However, according to local media reports, it had to postpone the hearing to next year.
